Why is this error code coming up?

The Bonaire navigator thermostat control not only operates your heating system but also monitors and controls all its functions. If the system encounters any issues during operation, the Bonaire controller will display an error code symbol on its screen.

Experiencing issues with your system? Before calling for service, try a simple reboot first. Unplug the unit from the power plug or turn off the main power switch from your switchboard for at least 5 – 10 minutes. This can often resolve minor glitches.

Fault:
Overheat prevention

Description:
Outlet temperature too high, heater off to prevent overheat occuring.

Ensure the thermistor is located correctly according to installation instructions.

Fault:
Overheat detect (thermistor or switch)

Fault:
Temporary parameter storage fault

Description:
Transient parameter storage fault. Replace the control board if the issue persists.

Fault:
Pressure lost

Description:
Pressure lost following initial check of combustion fan operation. Check the silicone hose connections and fittings. The silicone hose must not have any holes or cuts.

Fault:
Flame not detected

Description:
Flame not detected during ignition. Check gas supply, spark and flame sensor.

Fault:
Flame unstable

Description:
Flame out immediately after ignition. Check gas flow and flame sensor location.

Fault:
Flame lost during heating

Description:
Flame loss after stable flame achieved. Check gas supply

Fault:
Shutdown due to transient problem

Description:
Most likely due to stat off – transient condition only.

Fault:
Stat on at power up

Description:
Call for heat detected at power up. W input asserted at power up or following reset.

Fault:
Condensate detected

Description:
Not applicable (functionality reserved for 6 star heaters)

Fault:
Condensate sensor fault

Description:
Short circuit or open circuit condensate sensor. Not applicable. (Functionality reserved for 6 star products)

Fault:
System timing error

Description:
Mains frequency not 50Hz or internal control fault. Check the mains supply. Replace the control board if problem persists.

Fault:
Mod Valve over Current

Description:
Current in the mod valve too high for current setting. Check the balbe circuit and connections. Replace the valve if required.

Fault:
Thermistor location fault

Description:
Ensure the thermistor is located correctly inside the ducting. Refer to installation instructions for more information.

Fault:
Thermistor open circuit

Description:
Check the thermistor connection. Replace the thermistor if required.

Fault:
Thermistor short circuit

Description:
Check the thermistor connection. Replace the thermistor if required.

Fault:
Overheat switch or thermistor fault

Description:
Thermistor or overheat switch still indicating overheat after cooldown time has expired. Check thermistor connection. Check the overtemp sensor connection. Check to ensure the room fan is operating.

Fault:
Too many overheats (switch)

Description:
Appliance is constantly overheating. Overtemp sensor trips at 90C. Check the thermistor is located correctly according to installation instructions. Check room air fan operation. Check ducting for blockages. Check the gas valve test point pressure.

Fault:
Too many comb fan drive errors

Description:
Possible patrial blockage or high resistance in the flue piping. Check the flue pipe and connections to ensure there is no blockage.

Fault:
Pressure detected in idle state

Description:
Pressure sensor fault or combustion fan still running when supposed to be off. Check combustion fan operation. If combustion fan is not the cause of the issue the control board needs to be replaced.

Fault:
Pressure not detected

Description:
No pressure detected during initial combustion fan test. Check combustion fan, pressure sense tubes connected and in correct orientation (fitting on the combustion fan box must be attached to the negative side of the pressure sensor.

Fault:
Too many pressure losses

Description:
Ensure the silicone hose is attached properly and the fittings are intact.

Fault:
Low 24Vac

Fault:
Too many overheats (thermistor)

Description:
Ensure the thermistor is located correctly according to installation instructions. Check the room fan to ensure the operation. Check the gas test point pressure.

Fault:
Flame sense fault

Description:
Check earth connect

Fault:
Too many ignition attempts

Description:
Check the gas supply. Might also happen if the appliance has not been used for a prolonged period of time when the gas line needs to be purged of air. 

Fault:
Too many validation attempts

Description:
Check the gas supply. Might also happen if the appliance has not been used for a prolonged period of time when the gas line needs to be purged of air.

Fault:
No 24Vac

Description:
The ICS has detected a communication error with the air pressure sensor

Fault:
Mod valve open circuit

Description:
Check the valve connection terminals. Replace the loom if connection faulty. Replace the valve and control board if the problem persists.

Fault:
Mod valve short circtuit

Description:
Check the valve connection terminals. Replace the loom if connection faulty. Replace the valve and control board if the problem persists.

Fault:
Circulation fan drive fault

Description:
Fault with circulation fan or fan wiring fault. Check the fan wiring and room fan.

Fault:
Combustion fan drive fault

Description:
Fault with combustion fan or fan wiring fault. Check the fan wiring and combustion fan.

Fault:
AC input fault

Description:
Transient internal control fault

Fault:
System error – A/D converter

Description:
Internal control fault. Replace the control board if the problem persists.

Fault:
System error – MCU fault

Description:
Internal control fault. Replace the control board if the problem persists.

Fault:
False flame

Description:
Flame detected with no gas. Check earth connection and leaking gas valve.

Faut:
Primary valve not on

Description:
No 24Vac to gas valve. Check wiring. Replace the loom if required.

Fault:
Primary valve stuck on

Description:
Primary relay detected as on. Check wiring. Replace wiring/loom or gas valve if required.

Fault:
Primary valve lost

Description:
Gas valve dropped out during running. Check valve and wiring. Replace valve wiring/loom and gas valve if required.

Fault:
Secondary valve not on

Description:
Gas valve did not pull in. Check valve and wiring. Replace if required.

Fault:
Secondary valve stuck on

Description:
Secondary relay detected as on. Check gas valve wiring. Replace wiring/loom or gas valve if required.

Fault:
Secondary valve lost

Description:
Gas valved dropped out during running. Check valve and wiring. Replace wiring/loom or gas valve if required.

Fault:
MCU communications error

Description:
Transient internal control fault.

Fault:
MCU communications fault

Description:
Internal control fault. Replace the control board if the problem persists.

Fault:
Remote MCU not shut down

Description:
Transient internal control fault

Fault:
Incorrect remote MCU state

Description:
Transient internal control fault

Fault:
Mismatch in MCU infortmation

Description:
Transient internal control fault

Fault:
Unidentified fault

Description:
Transient internal control fault

Fault Code:
Remote MCU lockout

Description:
Internal control fault. Replace the control board if the problem persists.

Fault:
Unidentified Fault

Description:
Transient internal control fault

Fault:
Too many pressure losses

Description:
Ensure the silicone hose is attached properly and the fittings are intact.

Fault:
Invalid Model

Description:
Model dongle not connected or missing a screw. Check the model selection dongle to ensure all three screws are in place and the wiring is connected to the terminal the right way around.

Fault:
Maximum number of reset exceeded

Description:
Too many faults detected within 15 minutes. Wait 30 minutes and re-try.
